A recent example of product advances is Cyntrol® that scavenges free cyanide, converting it to a more eco-friendly thiocyanate.

 

Thio-Gold®, ammonium thiosulfate solution, is an attractive lixiviation for the extraction of gold and silver. Thiosulfate is considered a non-toxic alternative to cyanide, and the gold dissolution rates can be faster than conventional cyanidation. High gold recoveries can be realized with thiosulfate leaching complex and carbonaceous-type ores.
