Position: Operator

Reports To: Plant Manager

Location: Myton Utah – Newfield Phase I

 

 

Job Summary:

 

Operate, monitor, control, and maintain ECS production and logistical operations according to company policy and procedures and in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

 

Primary Functions / Responsibilities:

 

  • Know, understand and abide by company safety requirements and programs. Understand how to, and then consistently utilize, required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing duties. This position may require the periodic use of SCBA and/or other types of respiratory protection; as well as other types of PPE. The employee must be able to inspect for and recognize deficiencies in PPE, as well as don, and doff those pieces of equipment. Ensure other operators, maintenance personnel, contractors, and drivers utilize proper PPE when performing duties. Report violations to plant management.
  • Operation of the facility’s water treatment processes to produce water that meets required standards as set by ECS/Newfield contract and as may be amended by BLM standards from time to time. Adjust process parameters according to laboratory results to ensure water quality.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify deficiencies/problems within all plant processes to ensure necessary volumes and quality requirement is achieved. Perform minor maintenance when necessary to maintain process equipment. Ensure management and maintenance personnel are notified of plant deficiencies in a timely manner to ensure repairs are made to minimize downtime.
  • Stay physically fit enough so as to be able to safely operate filter press and dispose of solids in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform appropriate light laboratory analysis and record results per company policy and procedure.
  • Supervise activities of other operators while on shift and provide training to these employees as directed by plant management. Ensure activities are carried out efficiently and safely.
  • Keep detailed daily logs and other necessary records, forms or electronic data maintenance as requsted.
  • Maintain all plant areas in an extremely clean and organized manner. Ensure all process areas remain clean, rinsed down, and free of debris.
  • Coordinate maintenance projects with Maintenance personnel to ensure lines and equipment are properly Locked Out in accordance with policies and are properly prepared before maintenance tasks begin. Prepare Lock Out / Tag Out, Confined Space Entry, Vehicle Entry, and Hot Work Permits for maintenance projects according to policies. Assist with maintenance projects as necessary and/or as directed by management.
  • Initiate Incident Reports when necessary and immediately report all incidents to plant management.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete (i.e. Batch Sheets, Daily Tank Gauge Sheet, Safety Inspections, Incident Reports, etc…).
  • Monitor facility and facility boundaries to ensure site security is maintained. Report suspicious events to plant management and local agencies as necessary.
  • Report environmental releases to appropriate personnel / agencies as necessary in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct containment, clean up, packaging and labeling of Hazardous Waste materials according to HAZWOPER training and UDEQ, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Monitor consumable (chemicals, filter media, plates, etc.) levels and notify management when orders must be placed to ensure inventories are sufficient to maintain production. Notify management in a timely manner to minimize process downtime.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.

 

Qualifications/Critical Skills Needed:

 

  • At least two years plant/terminal operations experience required.
  • Experience with rotating equipment is preferred.
  • Forklift experience is preferred, as a company issued certification will be required.
  • Must be a self motivated individual willing to learn and be flexible.
  • The ability for imaginative and critical thought is preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical skills are required.
  • Hydraulic systems or electro coagulation experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills required, with a special emphasis on the ability to understand the fundamental scientific concepts and relationships governing operation and control of site processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong people skills are required; must demonstrate integrity, consistency and conscientiousness
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Trained/certified in HAZWOPER, Emergency Response OSHA, EPA, RCRA and DOT regulations is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Must be capable of working in a plant environment – must be able to:
  • Lift approximately 60 lbs safely.
  • Wear any/all personal protective equipment required including hardhat, safety shoes/boots, safety glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suit, rubber boots, harness and lanyard, supplied air respirator, and any other PPE deemed necessary for any specific task.
  • Climb ladders and work from elevated platforms and stanchions.
  • Successfully complete a medical evaluation performed by a physician or other licensed health care professional prior to wearing any respirator.
  • Work a 12 hour rotating shift.
  • Demonstrate physical stamina and be tolerant of high stress levels.

Title: Resource Engineer

Work Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Reports To: Director of Technical Services

Time Allocation: 100%

 

Basic Purpose and Accountabilities:

Provide initial operating logic and parameters for manned and unmanned solvent, glycol, and water recovery and cleaning systems. This person will support, trouble shoot, and physically travel to operate and or maintain both the operating equipment and the human machine interface between that equipment.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Design logic and operating programs and DCS parameters for equipment
  • Upgrade and physically repair existing equipment
  • Travel (up to 50%) on short notice to anywhere in the world to operate, repair or modify TKI systems
  • Maintain detailed records and company sensitive documents
  • Develop procedures to improve efficiency of equipment and raw material usage

Critical Skills:

  • Requires a Chemical Engineering degree with 5 years experience in Gas Plant or Oil Refinery operations
  • Including experience with the design and management of human machine interface and operating software and logic and designing, applying and managing patented customized processes
  • Proven ability to meld theoretical and practical technical knowledge to processes
  • Experience with Ion Exchange, specialty filtration and Vacuum Distillation technology
  • In plant processing experience and a good overall understanding of Gas Plant or Oil Refinery operations and processes
  • Experience working with and a sound chemical understanding of amines, solvents, glycols, their properties, reactions and uses
  • Basic knowledge of water treatment
  • A highly mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in a laboratory setting and experimentation techniques
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
